  1. Background

Founded in 2020 by a team of consultants, the Research and Capacity Building for Sustainable Development (RCSD Consultants Ltd), is based in Kicukiro District, Kigali City, Rwanda. RCSD Consultants Ltd is registered in Rwanda under Rwanda Development Board (Registration Number: 112172083). The Firm offers a wide range of professional services to individuals, public and private institutions and civil society organizations directly through capacity, building and projects that allow increased engagement and indirectly through the design and implementation of policies. The RCSD is managed by a consortium of consultants in economics, rural development, socio -economics and strategic performance management.

The Firm works with a team of professionals, trusted and accredited in research and capacity building to ensure that a wealth of knowledge and innovation is brought to our esteemed clients.   1. Our core focus

Evidence based interventions and capacity building packages are needed to create jobs and support existing development initiatives in Rwanda and abroad. RCSD was created with the aim of providing high quality research to inform policy making and implementation; to provide high quality professional training to enhance skills and knowledge in various areas of socio-economics; and to provide a platform for policy debates.

The RCSD works with local, regional, and international partners to promote sustainable development through sector-based research and advisory services in areas of agriculture, natural resource management, climate change, trade, gender and inclusiveness and education.

  1. Our technical capacities and description of services

The Firm relies its capacities in a team of qualified, experience and dedicated professionals/associates. Our team is gender-sensitive with 40% being females: 11 PhD holders 15 Masters Holders and fifty Bachelor’s degree holders who are affiliates to the firm. The majority of our consultants (team leaders) have more than 15 years’ experience in research and capacity building.

Since its establishment in 2020, RCSD has built a strong reputation in research, projects’ evaluation (baseline, mid-terms and end-line), capacity building consultancies, policy analysis and advocacy, organization of networking events, etc. RCSD draws its combined experience from its strong pool of experts in various professional fields.
